Lee Leibrandt is an early career Canberra artist who weaves small format tapestries. Her design process has developed to incorporate mixed media collage, which is then translated to woven form.
Lee considers the natural landscape restorative and intrinsic to her art practice. Her work is often a representation of personal experience of place – an observation of texture and organic patterns as she seeks to evoke a sense of connection and memory.
In 2021, Lee was awarded high commendations in both the Australian Tapestry Workshop’s Irene Davies Emerging Artist Award for Small Tapestries and the Gosford Art Prize.
Lee takes on a limited number of small-scale tapestry commissions each year, for private clients. Please see her website to view her full portfolio, or for further information on working with her. Enquiries are also welcome via email.
